ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Chris
WHERE I COME FROM
I grew up in Manchester and have lived in Weston for 26 years. We live in the house my wife grew up in, with sheep, chickens, a dog and a cat. We have two daughters who went to local schools - Little School, Flood Brook and Burr and Burton.
A THRIVING CAREER
After college, I joined the Peace Corps in Thailand. I then got a Masters Degree in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan. After a few adventures, I ended up back in Manchester running the family business, Northshire Bookstore, until 2021.

I am a graduate of the Snelling Center for Government’s Vermont Leadership Institute, and have been a hands-on promoter of Vermont interests for many years, including serving as the founding President of Local First Vermont, an organization dedicated to strengthening Vermont by keeping money circulating in our communities.
I also served on the boards of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility as well as two local school boards – Flood Brook and Long Trail. I am a voting member of the Vermont Community Foundation. On the national level, I serve as President of the Board of the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC).
Meeting Challenging Times
My goal as State Rep will be to take the issues that are important to us way down here up to Montpelier. These are challenging times and there are many forces on the horizon that could prove difficult. The State needs to reform education funding, property taxes and government services to better serve our communities and businesses. I am not an ideological person. I am practical - I will be focused on making our lives more affordable and more resilient to the challenges ahead. We need to find a way to have affordable housing as it is the foundation for so many other aspects of healthy communities. There is a lot to do! Right now, I am in the listening phase so please reach out and tell me your thoughts.
